# Import Search Console Generative AI reports

> Preview and save a supported Search Console export, then read its page impressions, daily trend, and coverage limits.

This guide documents current CrawlRaven v2 behavior. UI labels are written exactly where relevant. Bounded Search Console rows are evidence, not guaranteed exhaustive totals.

## What this report contains

Generative AI displays impressions imported from the Search Console Generative AI report for Search. It requires a paid workspace and an unlocked, active website. This is a saved export snapshot, not a live API connection or a measure of visibility across every AI assistant.

- Pages show impressions from the selected snapshot.
- The chart shows daily impressions from the export, with its date coverage visible.
- Property, period in Pacific Time, search type, filters, and limitations stay attached to the report.
- Countries and devices are not imported as report dimensions.

## Prepare and preview the export

1. **Export from Search Console** — If the Google report is available to your property, open Generative AI on Search, choose Pages, then Export and Download CSV.
2. **Open Generative AI in CrawlRaven** — Use Import export if you already have a saved snapshot.
3. **Choose the files** — Upload the ZIP, or choose the extracted Pages.csv with Chart.csv or Dates.csv and optional Filters.csv together. Each file must be at most 1 MiB.
4. **Confirm the source and property** — Confirm that the files came from the Generative AI report for Search for the property shown in CrawlRaven.
5. **Preview import** — Review page and date counts, chart and page impression totals, the property, period, and any warnings. Nothing is saved yet.

If period or filter details are missing, expand `Period or filters missing from the export?`. Leave dates blank to use chart coverage, or supply the selected period. Without Filters.csv, state the search type and filters, or mark them unknown.

## Save and read one snapshot at a time

Select `Save snapshot` after reviewing the preview. Each save creates an independent snapshot. Overlapping exports are never added together. Select the intended saved import before interpreting the page table or daily trend.

- Do not add page-row impressions to recreate chart totals. Their aggregation and coverage can differ.
- Missing dates remain gaps, not zero-impression days.
- Completeness may be unknown, and page coverage may be capped. A page absent from the export is not proof of no visibility.
- Keep preliminary status, selected filters, and the period with any conclusion you share.

A separately authorized paid MCP connection can read saved snapshots. See [MCP with full access](/docs/mcp-full-access) for permissions and evidence boundaries.

## If an import does not work

- Follow the specific validation error instead of repeatedly submitting the same files.
- If the ZIP fails, extract it and choose the supported CSV files together.
- Check file size, required page and chart files, property confirmation, and any missing period or filter details.
- If Google does not offer the report for your property, CrawlRaven cannot create that source export for you.
