What Is Atomic Facts?

An atomic fact is a single self-contained claim that can be lifted from a page and remain true and comprehensible without its surrounding context. "An SEO audit costs $2,000 to $7,500 for a mid-size site" is atomic; "costs vary considerably" is not.

Why Atomic Facts matters for SEO

AI systems construct answers by extracting claims from sources. A page written in atomic facts is easy to quote and therefore easy to cite. A page whose claims only make sense in context has to be paraphrased, which usually means the citation goes to a clearer source instead.

Pro tip on Atomic Facts

State specifics rather than ranges of vagueness. Put the number, the date and the qualifier in the same sentence. Avoid claims that depend on the previous paragraph to parse. Read each key sentence alone and ask whether it still means something.
