What Is LLM Prompt Coverage?

LLM prompt coverage is the share of a defined set of prompts where your brand appears in the generated answer. It is the AI-search equivalent of share of voice, and it replaces ranking position as the unit of measurement because generated answers have no ranked list.

Why LLM Prompt Coverage matters for SEO

There is no position to occupy in an AI answer, so coverage across a prompt set is the only meaningful visibility metric. It is also comparative by nature: knowing you appear in 6 of 20 prompts means little until you know which competitors fill the other 14.

Pro tip on LLM Prompt Coverage

Define 20 buyer-intent prompts and never change their wording. Run them monthly across the major assistants. Record mention, citation and recommendation separately, plus which competitors appear. The trend across months is the signal; a single run is noise.
