What Is Platform Property?

A platform property is a Search Console property type, launched 7 July 2026, whose subject is a social account rather than a domain. Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube accounts can each be verified by signing in to them, and Google then reports how that account's content performs on Google Search, Discover and News.

Why Platform Property matters for SEO

It is the first Search Console property that never asks whether you own a website, which means Google now reports on content you publish but cannot technically configure. It exposes no index coverage, no Core Web Vitals, no sitemaps and no URL inspection, so it widened what you can measure without widening what you can change.

Pro tip on Platform Property

Verify all four accounts now rather than when you need the data, because there is no backfill and history starts on the verification date. Then export each property and join them on the query column, since Google builds no brand-level view across your site and your accounts.
