What Is Referring Domain?

A referring domain is a unique website that contains at least one backlink pointing to your site. One referring domain can provide multiple backlinks, but the diversity of referring domains is more important than the total number of individual links.

Why Referring Domain matters for SEO

Google values link diversity. 100 backlinks from 1 domain is less valuable than 10 backlinks from 10 different domains. Growing your referring domain count is a better indicator of link building success than growing total backlink count.
