STAT Search Analytics Review: The $720 Floor Nobody Puts on the Website

STAT tracks ranks better than almost anything. It also hides its price. Here is the $720/mo floor, the per-keyword math, and how it compares to SE Ranking.

Aditi ChaturvediAugust 4, 2026
TL;DR

STAT Search Analytics is the enterprise rank tracker Moz bought in 2018, and it is still the best answer for tracking very large keyword portfolios daily. It is also the answer to a narrow question, sold without a price tag.

  • Rating: 3.8/5. Near-perfect at rank tracking, penalised for a single-purpose toolkit and a price you have to ask for.
  • Pricing: getstat.com publishes no prices. Capterra and TrustRadius both list a $720/month floor covering 6,000 daily keywords, which works out to $0.12 per keyword per month (verified August 2026).
  • STAT vs SE Ranking: SE Ranking Growth tracks 5,000 daily keywords for $279/month, about $0.056 per keyword, and throws in audits, research and reports. STAT wins on scale and SERP depth, not on value.
  • Best for: Enterprise SEO teams and large agencies tracking tens of thousands of keywords across markets, piping the data into their own dashboards.
  • Not ideal for: Anyone under about 5,000 keywords, anyone who wants one tool to research, audit and track, and anyone who cannot start with a sales call.

Ranks tell you where you stand. They do not tell you what to do on Monday, which is a different tool's job.

STAT Search Analytics answers one question extremely well: where does every keyword in a very large portfolio rank today, in every market you sell in? It answers it daily, at a scale most trackers refuse, and it charges accordingly. Try CrawlRaven free: 1 site, no credit card →

The fastest way to find out what STAT Search Analytics costs is to ask a software directory, because the vendor will not tell you. Its own site sells the demo, not the price.

So here is the number the review should open with: $720 per month is the listed entry point, covering 6,000 daily tracked keywords. That is $0.12 per keyword per month, and it is roughly double what SE Ranking charges for the same daily check.

The verdict up front

STAT scores 3.8 out of 5. I rate rank trackers on six things: tracking depth, data granularity, API and reporting, breadth of toolkit, pricing transparency, and value per keyword. STAT takes full marks on the first three and loses ground on the last three.

Key Takeaways

  • What it is: An enterprise rank tracker and SERP analytics platform, founded in Vancouver and acquired by Moz in 2018. Still sold in August 2026.
  • What it costs: No published price. Capterra and TrustRadius both list a $720/month floor for 6,000 daily keywords, or $8,640 a year.
  • Where it wins: Daily refresh on portfolios that break other trackers, full SERP feature capture, share of voice, and a mature API.
  • Where it loses: No crawler, no keyword research database, no link index, and no way to buy it without a sales call.
  • The honest catch: STAT measures outcomes beautifully and explains causes not at all. Budget for a second tool that turns ranks into a plan.
Scorecard

Those six scores in plain text: tracking depth 5/5, data granularity 5/5, API and reporting 5/5, breadth of toolkit 2/5, pricing transparency 2/5, value per keyword 3/5. The average lands at 3.7, and I round to 3.8 because the three categories STAT wins are the ones its buyers are actually buying.

What is STAT Search Analytics?

STAT Search Analytics is a dedicated rank tracking and SERP analytics platform built for keyword portfolios measured in tens or hundreds of thousands. It refreshes every tracked keyword daily rather than weekly, and it records the whole result page, not just your line in it.

What it deliberately is not:

  • Not a site crawler. There is no technical audit module. Nothing in STAT tells you a page is noindexed, slow, or orphaned.
  • Not a keyword research tool. You bring the keyword list. STAT tracks what you give it.
  • Not a link index. No backlink data, no authority metric of its own.
  • Not self-serve. There is no signup form that ends in a working account and a card charge.
Share of voice: in plain English

Share of voice is your slice of all the clicks a keyword set is likely to produce, weighted by where you rank on each one. It moves when you gain positions on high-volume terms and barely moves when you gain on small ones, which makes it a better headline number for executives than average position.

Who owns STAT now?

The ownership chain matters more than usual here, because it explains the product's pace.

  • 2018: Moz acquires STAT Search Analytics, then a Vancouver company, to add enterprise-scale tracking to its self-serve suite.
  • July 2020: STAT ships a Google Data Studio connector, now Looker Studio, aimed squarely at analyst workflows.
  • June 2021: Moz is acquired by iContact Marketing Corp, a Ziff Davis company, so STAT becomes a product two levels inside a public media group.
  • August 2026: STAT is still sold, still demo-gated, and still has no public price page.
Opinion· Aditi's take
A product that has not changed shape in five years is not automatically a problem. STAT solved its problem early and the problem did not move much. What worries me is not the roadmap, it is the silence around it: no price, no self-serve trial, and little public product news since the Looker Studio connector. Quiet is fine for a utility. It is expensive for a $720/month utility.

STAT's key features, and how good each one is

Seven things STAT does, with an honest read on each.

  • Daily rank refresh on everything. Excellent. Most trackers ration daily checks by tier. STAT's premise is that every keyword refreshes every day, whether you track 6,000 or 600,000.
  • Market, device and location granularity. Excellent. Ranks are tracked per market and per device, which is the difference between one useless global average and a real picture of a multi-country site.
  • SERP feature capture. Excellent. STAT records the universal results around your listing, so you can see when a feature pushed you down rather than assuming an algorithm did.
  • Share of voice. Very good. Weighted visibility across a keyword set, which is the number worth putting in a board deck.
  • Tags and segments. Very good. Keyword sets slice by brand, product line, intent or region, which is how large portfolios stay readable.
  • SERP screenshots and stored HTML. Good, and genuinely rare. Useful when you need to prove what a result page looked like on a given day.
  • API and Looker Studio connector. Very good. The API is mature and the connector, shipped July 2020, means analysts can pull rank data into an existing dashboard rather than living in STAT.

The pattern is consistent. Everything on that list is about measuring search results with precision, and nothing on it is about your website.

STAT Search Analytics pricing: what $720/month actually means

STAT does not publish pricing. As of August 2026, getstat.com routes every path to a demo request, and there is no price page, no tier table and no self-serve checkout.

The third-party listings are consistent, and they are the best public figures available:

  • Capterra lists STAT starting at $720 per month, with a free trial available and no free version (Capterra listing, verified August 2026).
  • TrustRadius puts the same $720/month figure on its pricing page for STAT, describing it as big-data SERP tracking for 6,000 keywords (TrustRadius listing, verified August 2026).
  • Per keyword, that is $0.12 per month. $720 divided by 6,000 daily tracked keywords. STAT's own positioning has always been that you pay for keywords and everything else is included.

Treat $720 as a floor, not a quote. Contracts scale with keyword volume, markets and seats, and enterprise deals are negotiated annually.

One year and three years of STAT

Tool and tierMonthly1 year3 years
STAT, listed floor (6,000 keywords)$720$8,640$25,920
SE Ranking Growth, annual (5,000 keywords)$223.20$2,678.40$8,035.20

Nightwatch entry (250 keywords)$39$468$1,404
CrawlRaven lifetime, 3 sites (launch price)$49 once$49 once

The same numbers in plain text, since the table is easy to skim past:

  • STAT at its listed floor: $8,640 a year, $25,920 over three years.
  • SE Ranking Growth, annual billing: $2,678.40 a year, $8,035.20 over three years.
  • SE Ranking Core, annual billing: $1,238.40 a year, $3,715.20 over three years.
  • CrawlRaven: a one-time lifetime licence from $49 at launch for 3 sites. Lifetime pricing steps up as licenses sell, so check the pricing page for the current batch. See the current price.

STAT vs SE Ranking: the comparison people actually search for

This pairing looks odd until you notice what both tools are hired for: daily rank data for a few thousand keywords, delivered to a client or a stakeholder. STAT reaches down into that job from enterprise, SE Ranking reaches up into it from the mid market.

The per-keyword math

Cost per tracked keyword

What a daily rank check costs per month

STAT Search Analytics$0.12 / keyword
6,000 daily keywords, listed floor$720/mo
SE Ranking Core$0.065 / keyword
2,000 daily keywords, monthly billing$129/mo
SE Ranking Growth$0.056 / keyword
5,000 daily keywords, monthly billing$279/mo
Nightwatch entry$0.156 / keyword
250 daily keywords, entry tier$39/mo
Vendor prices verified August 2026. STAT publishes no price page; the $720/mo floor is the figure listed by Capterra and TrustRadius.

The figures in that chart, stated plainly:

  • STAT: $0.12 per daily-tracked keyword per month, at its listed floor of $720 for 6,000.
  • SE Ranking Core: $0.065 per keyword, at $129/mo for 2,000 daily keywords.
  • SE Ranking Growth: $0.056 per keyword, at $279/mo for 5,000 daily keywords.
  • Nightwatch entry: $0.156 per keyword, at $39/mo for 250. Small volume costs more per unit everywhere.

Two honest caveats before you take that as a verdict:

  • Per-keyword price is not per-keyword value. STAT's $0.12 buys stored SERP HTML, screenshots and feature-level detail that SE Ranking does not match.
  • The curve inverts at scale. SE Ranking is cheaper at 5,000 keywords. At 200,000 keywords across a dozen markets, STAT is the tool that will still answer, and enterprise contracts are negotiated well below the list rate.

Performance in practice: what STAT gets right

Reading STAT's documentation and its buyers' accounts, one thing stands out: it fails quietly in fewer places than cheaper trackers do.

  • Daily means daily. No queueing, no “checks refresh over 48 hours” footnote when a big portfolio is in flight.
  • Localisation is real. Ranks by market and device, which matters most on exactly the multi-country sites that buy this tier.
  • SERP context survives. When a listing drops, the stored result page tells you whether a feature took the space above it.
  • The data leaves the building. The API and Looker Studio connector are built on the assumption that STAT is one input to your reporting, not the destination.

The gap is what happens next. STAT is exceptionally good at telling you that positions moved and exceptionally quiet about why, because the causes live in your pages and your Search Console data, and STAT reads neither.

Interface and daily workflow

STAT's interface is analyst software, not marketing software. Dense tables, heavy filtering, tags and segments as first-class objects, and dashboards you assemble rather than admire.

  • Setup is guided, not self-serve. Onboarding runs through STAT's team, which is a real benefit at 100,000 keywords and pure friction at 3,000.
  • The learning curve is front-loaded. Tagging conventions decided on day one determine whether the reporting is useful in month three.
  • Daily use is mostly scheduled. Most teams read STAT through exports, the API or a Looker Studio dashboard rather than by logging in.
  • It looks its age. Nobody buys STAT for the interface, and nobody should decide against it on that basis either.

STAT pros and cons

Pros
  • Daily rank refresh on every keyword, at portfolio sizes that break cheaper trackers
  • Market, device and location granularity that holds up on multi-country sites
  • Best-in-class SERP feature capture, including stored HTML and screenshots
  • Share of voice as a weighted, executive-ready visibility number
  • Mature API plus a Looker Studio connector, shipped July 2020, for BI workflows
  • Pricing model is honest in shape: you pay for keywords, features are not upsold separately
Cons
  • No published pricing anywhere on getstat.com; every path is a demo request
  • $720/month listed floor puts it out of reach for most teams under 6,000 keywords
  • $0.12 per keyword per month is roughly double SE Ranking's Growth rate
  • Rank tracking only: no site crawl, no keyword research, no backlink index
  • No self-serve trial or checkout, so evaluation starts with a sales call
  • Little public product news since the 2020 Looker Studio connector
  • Thin third-party review base: 19 reviews on G2 and 5 on Capterra

Who STAT Search Analytics is best for

  • Enterprise in-house SEO teams. Multi-country sites, tens of thousands of keywords, and a stakeholder who wants share of voice by market every Monday.
  • Large agencies with enterprise retainers. Clients whose portfolios genuinely exceed what a mid-market tracker will refresh daily.
  • Analytics teams building their own reporting. If rank data is one table in a warehouse next to revenue, STAT's API is the point of the purchase.
  • Teams that need SERP evidence. Stored screenshots and HTML settle arguments about what a result page looked like on a given day.

Who should skip it

  • Anyone under about 5,000 keywords. You are paying the enterprise floor for capacity you will not use. SE Ranking or Nightwatch cost a fraction of it.
  • Teams that want one tool. STAT assumes a crawler, a research tool and an analytics stack already exist around it.
  • Buyers who cannot start with a sales call. There is no way to try it on a Friday afternoon and decide by Monday.
  • Anyone whose real question is “what do we fix first?” Ranks are the scoreboard, not the play.

What reviewers say about STAT

The third-party record on STAT is positive and unusually thin, which is what you would expect from a product sold to a few hundred large accounts rather than to the market.

  • G2: 4.3 out of 5 from 19 reviews (G2 profile, verified August 2026).
  • Capterra: 4.8 out of 5 from 5 reviews, with a listed starting price of $720 per month (Capterra profile, verified August 2026).
  • The recurring themes across those listings are rank accuracy, SERP feature depth and API usefulness on the positive side, and cost plus narrow scope on the negative side.

I am not quoting individual reviewers here because I could not verify the full text of those reviews against their source pages, and a review score with a link is worth more than a quote I cannot stand behind.

STAT Search Analytics alternatives

Four credible replacements, plus the tool that solves the adjacent problem.

  • SE Ranking: the value alternative. Core $129/mo for 2,000 daily keywords, Growth $279/mo for 5,000 (verified August 2026), with audits, research and client reporting included. The right answer for most agencies that considered STAT and flinched.
  • Nightwatch: the small-team tracker. From $39/mo for 250 keywords, with strong local and mobile granularity and white-label reports. Its site audit is basic, so it competes with STAT only on tracking.
  • Moz Pro: STAT's own stablemate, and a different product. Public pricing from $49/mo, Domain Authority, Link Explorer and Site Crawl, but nothing approaching STAT's tracking scale.
  • seoClarity and BrightEdge: the enterprise platforms competing for the same budget. Both are far broader than STAT and far more expensive, starting around $3,000/mo and roughly $50,000/yr respectively.
  • CrawlRaven: not a rank tracker, and not trying to be. It joins Google Search Console and GA4 with your imported Ahrefs or Semrush keyword lists and a 200-point technical crawl, then returns one ranked plan of what to write, update and fix first. Lifetime licences from $49 at launch, with a free plan for 1 site.
  • Free stopgap: Before committing to a $720 floor, most of the segmentation question can be answered inside Search Console. Our free GSC regex generator builds the query filters that slice a large portfolio by brand, intent or market.

Frequently asked questions

Basics

  • Is STAT still available? Yes, as of August 2026 it is still sold as Moz's enterprise rank tracker, with a demo request as the only entry point.
  • Who owns STAT? Moz, which acquired it in 2018. Moz itself was acquired by iContact Marketing Corp, a Ziff Davis company, in June 2021.
  • Does STAT crawl your site? No. It tracks search results, not websites.

Pricing

  • What is the entry price? $720/month for 6,000 daily keywords, per the Capterra and TrustRadius listings. STAT publishes nothing itself.
  • Is there a free trial? Capterra lists a trial but no free version, and it is granted through sales rather than self-serve signup.
  • What does a year cost? $8,640 at the listed floor, or $25,920 over three years.

Comparisons

  • STAT vs SE Ranking? STAT for scale and SERP depth, SE Ranking for value and breadth at $0.056 to $0.065 per keyword.
  • STAT vs Moz Pro? Different products, sold separately. Moz Pro is the self-serve suite; STAT is the enterprise tracker.
  • STAT vs a decision tool? STAT reports positions. CrawlRaven turns performance, engagement and crawl data into an ordered to-do list.

Final verdict: is STAT worth $720 a month?

3.8 out of 5. If you track more than about 20,000 keywords across multiple markets and you need every one of them refreshed daily with the SERP around it, STAT is worth its floor and the sales call it takes to get there. Nothing at the mid-market price point does that job as reliably.

Below that line the maths turns against it fast. At 5,000 keywords you are paying roughly double SE Ranking's rate for a narrower product, and you still need a crawler, a research tool and something that turns the numbers into a plan.

  • Buy STAT if: the portfolio is genuinely enterprise-scale and rank data feeds a warehouse.
  • Buy SE Ranking if: you want daily tracking plus audits and reports for a published price.
  • Buy Nightwatch if: tracking is the only job and the list is small.
  • Add CrawlRaven if: the ranks are already measured and the open question is what to do about them. A free plan covers 1 site with no credit card, and lifetime licences start at a one-time $49 at launch. Lifetime pricing steps up as licenses sell, so check the pricing page for the current batch.

Frequently asked questions

What is STAT Search Analytics?

STAT Search Analytics is an enterprise rank tracking and SERP analytics platform, founded in Vancouver and acquired by Moz in 2018. It refreshes ranks daily for every tracked keyword across markets, devices and locations, captures the SERP features around each result, and exposes everything through an API and a Looker Studio connector. It is a dedicated tracker, not an all-in-one SEO suite: there is no site crawler, no keyword research database and no backlink index.

Is STAT still available in 2026?

Yes. STAT is still sold as Moz's enterprise rank tracking product as of August 2026, and getstat.com remains live with a demo request as the entry point. Moz itself was acquired by iContact Marketing Corp, a Ziff Davis company, in June 2021, so STAT now sits two levels down inside a public media group. There has been no announced sunset, but there has also been little visible product news.

How much does STAT Search Analytics cost?

STAT publishes no pricing on its own site; every path leads to a demo request. Third-party software directories are consistent about the floor: Capterra and TrustRadius both list STAT starting at $720 per month, which covers 6,000 daily tracked keywords and works out to $0.12 per keyword per month (verified August 2026). Real contracts are quoted on keyword volume, markets and seats, so treat $720 as the entry point rather than the typical invoice.

Does STAT offer a free trial?

Capterra lists a free trial for STAT but no free version, and STAT's own site routes you to a demo rather than a signup form (verified August 2026). In practice the trial is granted through the sales conversation, not self-serve. If you want to evaluate a rank tracker without talking to anyone, SE Ranking runs a self-serve 14-day trial and Nightwatch sells from $39/month.

Is STAT better than SE Ranking?

For very large keyword portfolios, yes. STAT refreshes every keyword daily at any volume, captures SERP features and share of voice in more depth, and is built to feed a data warehouse. For everything else, SE Ranking is the better buy: Core is $129/month for 2,000 daily keywords and Growth is $279/month for 5,000 (verified August 2026), roughly half STAT's cost per keyword, and both include site audits, keyword research and client reporting that STAT does not attempt.

What is the difference between STAT and Moz Pro?

Moz Pro is the self-serve SEO suite with Domain Authority, Link Explorer, Keyword Explorer and Site Crawl, priced publicly from $49/month. STAT is the separate enterprise product Moz acquired in 2018, focused only on daily rank tracking at scale, priced by quote from a listed floor of $720/month. Teams that need both usually buy both; they are not tiers of the same product.

What are the best STAT alternatives?

SE Ranking is the closest value alternative for agencies tracking 2,000 to 5,000 keywords. Nightwatch is the best small-team dedicated tracker at $39/month and up. seoClarity and BrightEdge compete for the same enterprise budget with much broader platforms. And if what you actually need is a decision rather than a position history, CrawlRaven joins Google Search Console, GA4 and a 200-point crawl into one ranked plan, from a one-time $49 at launch.

Does STAT tell you what to fix on your site?

No, and it does not claim to. STAT reports position, SERP features and share of voice with unusual precision, then stops. Turning that into an action list is a separate job: you have to line ranks up against impressions and clicks, against engagement, and against the technical state of the pages involved. CrawlRaven does that join and returns one ranked plan of what to write, what to update and what to fix first.
