What Is Link Equity?

Link equity (also called link juice or PageRank) is the ranking value passed from one page to another through hyperlinks. When a high-authority page links to another page, it passes a portion of its authority through that link, boosting the linked page's ranking potential.

Why Link Equity matters for SEO

Link equity flows through both internal and external links. Internal links distribute authority from high-value pages (like your homepage) to deeper content. External backlinks bring new authority into your site. Redirect chains and broken links waste link equity.
