I have run the same site through five crawlers in an afternoon more than once. The finding lists come back near-identical: same broken links, same redirect chains, same duplicate titles, same missing alt attributes, give or take a rendering difference.
That is not a criticism of any of them. Reading a canonical tag has one correct answer, and a mature category converges on it. But it does mean that comparing audit tools on what they find is comparing them on the part where they are all the same.

The real differentiator: what comes after the list
Here is the failure mode the category is built around and rarely admits. A crawl of a mid-size site returns something like 2,000 findings. Roughly twelve of them change anything.
