10 Best LLM SEO Tools in 2026: Tracking + Optimization Compared
The 10 best LLM SEO tools in 2026, tested and compared for rank tracking and optimization across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. Verified pricing from a $49 one-time license to $699/month, G2 ratings with sources, a full comparison table, and a decision tree to pick the right stack for your budget.
LLM SEO tools do two jobs traditional SEO software cannot: they track whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews mention or cite your brand (rank tracking for prompts instead of keywords), and they tell you what to change so you get cited more often. No single tool does both jobs well, so most teams run a two-tool stack.
- Best dedicated tracker: Peec AI, from €89/month (about $95), with daily tracking and unlimited seats.
- Cheapest credible entry point: Otterly AI Lite at $29/month.
- Depth leader: Profound, from $99/month and enterprise from about $2,000/month, with proprietary Prompt Volumes data.
- If you already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs: Their add-ons bolt tracking onto your existing stack: AI Visibility Toolkit at $99/month per domain, Brand Radar at $398–$699/month.
- For the optimization half: CrawlRaven (a launch price of $49–$99 launch license, free plan for 1 site, no credit card) runs a 200-point audit including AI search readiness checks (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot access, schema, JavaScript rendering) and exports white-label PDFs on the $99 launch tier.
The cheapest complete stack in 2026 is CrawlRaven plus Otterly Lite: $29/month plus a one-time $49, a fraction of Semrush One at $199/month. All prices verified July 2026.
Every week another SEO wakes up to a client asking why a competitor gets recommended by ChatGPT and they don't. Traditional rank trackers can't answer that question. They were built for a search results page that AI answers increasingly bypass. This guide compares the 10 best LLM SEO tools in 2026 across both halves of the job: tracking your visibility inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, and optimizing your site so AI engines actually cite you. Every price and rating was verified in July 2026, with sources linked. Try CrawlRaven free: 1 site, no credit card →

What are LLM SEO tools?
LLM SEO tools help you win visibility inside large language model answers. Those are the responses ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews generate when someone asks a question your business should be the answer to.
The category sounds unified. It isn't. Every tool in this space falls into one of two camps, and vendors love to blur the line:
- LLM tracking tools (rank tracking for prompts). You define a set of prompts: "best project management software for agencies", "is [competitor] worth it". The tool re-runs them daily or weekly across AI engines and records whether your brand was mentioned, cited as a source, or recommended. Over time that produces mention rates, citation rates, and share of voice. Peec AI, Otterly, Profound, and Scrunch live here.
- LLM optimization tools (making yourself citable). These audit and improve the layer AI engines actually consume. Can GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot crawl you? Does your schema validate? Does your content survive without JavaScript? Is it structured so a model can lift an answer from it? CrawlRaven and AthenaHQ's Action Center live here.
LLM SEO is two jobs, not one
Answers one question: when buyers ask AI engines about your category, do you show up?
- ▸Re-runs a fixed prompt set daily or weekly
- ▸Records mentions, citations, share of voice
- ▸Benchmarks you against named competitors
Answers the harder question: what do you change so AI engines can crawl, parse, and cite you?
- ▸Checks GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot access
- ▸Validates schema and JavaScript rendering
- ▸Returns a prioritized, impact-ranked fix list
The catch: no single tool does both jobs well. Trackers chart your decline without explaining it. Auditors fix your citability without measuring it. Most teams need one of each, and the combined bill can still come in under $40/month.
Here's the thing: a tracker with no optimizer is a scoreboard you can't act on. An optimizer with no tracker is a fix list you can't measure.
The two-tool stack isn't an upsell trick. It reflects how the work actually splits.
The discipline goes by several names: GEO (generative engine optimization), AEO (answer engine optimization), AI visibility, LLM SEO. Same work, different labels. For a full walkthrough of the discipline itself, see our complete guide to LLM SEO.
How this list differs from our AI visibility roundup: we previously published a comparison of 14 AI visibility tools focused on brand monitoring: mentions, sentiment, and share of voice for PR and brand teams.
This list takes the SEO practitioner's angle. It covers LLM rank tracking plus the optimization work that changes the numbers. The tool sets overlap; the buying criteria don't.
Why LLM SEO tools exist: 5 problems traditional SEO software can't solve
This category didn't appear because vendors needed a new SKU. It appeared because five measurement problems broke the old tooling at once.
- AI answers are eating clicks you used to win. Pew Research Center found that users who see a Google AI summary click a traditional result just 8% of the time, versus 15% without one. That's roughly half your expected clicks gone whenever an AI Overview appears. If you're not the brand named inside the answer, you increasingly don't exist for that query.
- Buying journeys now start in chat windows your analytics barely see. ChatGPT passed 900 million weekly active users in February 2026. Referral tracking from AI assistants is patchy at best. Without a dedicated tracker you have no idea what those users are told about you.
- Rank trackers can't track answers that have no ranks. An LLM response has no position 1–10. The same prompt returns different brands on different runs, models, and regions. Measuring visibility requires repeated sampling and mention-rate math, which is a fundamentally different product than a SERP scraper.
- You can't see which prompts matter. Google gives you Search Console; ChatGPT gives you nothing. Tools with prompt-demand data exist to rebuild the "keyword research" layer for AI search. Profound's Prompt Volumes panel and Ahrefs' 421M+ monthly prompt database are the two serious attempts.
- The optimization signals are different, and mostly technical. AI engines can only cite what their crawlers fetch and parse. Blocked GPTBot rules, client-side-rendered content, and missing schema silently remove you from the candidate pool. In our own testing across visibility platforms, monitoring tools consistently reported the problem but not the cause. That diagnostic gap is why audit-layer tools exist.
How we evaluated these tools: 6 criteria
We ran an SEO agency before building CrawlRaven, and most of these platforms have passed through our stack on real client work. Every price below was re-verified against official pricing pages and current third-party sources in July 2026.
Where a vendor hides pricing behind a demo call, we say so. Disclosure: CrawlRaven is our product. It's in this list because it covers the optimization half of LLM SEO, and we're explicit about what it doesn't do.
Each tool was scored against six criteria. The weighting is deliberate: data you can act on beats data that decorates a dashboard.
- Engine coverage. Which AI surfaces are tracked: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot. And crucially, which cost extra. Advertised engine lists and included engine lists are rarely the same thing.
- Tracking depth and frequency. Prompt-level citation data beats brand-mention counts; daily beats weekly. AI answers shift with every model update, so a monthly snapshot will routinely miss both your losses and your wins.
- Optimization guidance. Does the tool tell you what to change, or just chart your decline? Most of this category fails this criterion outright, which is why the two-tool stack exists.
- Data trustworthiness. Sampling methodology, response volumes, and whether "prompt volume" numbers have a defensible source. If a vendor can't explain where a demand number comes from, treat it as marketing.
- Workflow fit. Seats, white-label reporting, API/MCP access, and how it slots next to your existing SEO stack. Unlimited seats matters more than it sounds once a whole client team wants dashboard access.
- Price honesty. Advertised entry price versus what the configuration you actually need costs once add-ons land. We pre-computed the real numbers wherever the gap is material.
The 10 best LLM SEO tools in 2026
Before the individual entries, orient yourself on the map. Four kinds of tool, two jobs:
Two jobs, four kinds of tool
How to read this map: pure-play trackers (Peec, Otterly, Profound, Scrunch, Omnia) and suite add-ons (Semrush, Ahrefs, SE Ranking) measure your AI visibility. CrawlRaven sits alone in the optimization quadrant: it audits the technical layer that decides whether you can be cited at all. AthenaHQ is the only tool that credibly does both. Most teams pick one tracker plus one optimizer.
1. CrawlRaven: Best for the optimization half, AI-readiness auditing from $49 at launch
CrawlRaven is a cloud SEO audit platform that approaches LLM SEO from the side every tracker ignores: whether AI engines can crawl, render, and understand your site in the first place.
Its 200-point technical audit includes AI search readiness checks (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot access, schema validation, JavaScript rendering, Core Web Vitals) alongside classic technical SEO, and exports fully white-label PDF reports.

- 200-point technical audit with prioritized, impact-ranked fix list
- AI crawler access checks: robots.txt rules for GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot
- Schema/structured data validation and JS rendering checks: the citability layer
- White-label PDF reports for agencies on the $99 lifetime tier; full-site crawl on every plan
- MCP access (coming soon on the $99 tier): run audits from inside Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT
- ✓Cheapest entry in this list: a one-time $49 lifetime license, plus a free plan (1 site, no credit card)
- ✓Only tool here that diagnoses why LLMs can't cite you (crawl/render/schema layer)
- ✓White-label PDFs make it agency-deliverable out of the box
- ✓MCP access lets your LLM read audit data directly
- ✗Not a prompt tracker: no share-of-voice or mention-rate dashboards; pair it with a tracker from this list
- ✗No keyword research or backlink analysis
- ✗Our product, so read this entry with that in mind
- Pricing (verified July 2026). Free plan (1 website, no credit card); lifetime licenses at a one-time $49 (3 websites) or $99 (10 websites, white-label PDF, MCP coming soon). See current plans.
- Rating. No third-party review profile yet. We're the vendor, so we won't score ourselves. Judge it on the free plan.
- Best for. Teams and agencies that want the optimization layer of LLM SEO, a prioritized fix list for AI citability, at one-tenth the cost of any tracker on this list.
2. Peec AI: Best dedicated LLM rank tracker for most marketing teams
Peec AI is a Berlin-built LLM tracking platform that has become the default recommendation for mid-size marketing teams.
Daily prompt tracking, clean competitive benchmarking, source-level citation data, and unlimited seats on every plan. Our full Peec AI review covers it in depth.

- Daily tracking on every tier, including Starter. Rare at this price
- Tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot (3 of 7 engines per tier; Claude is Enterprise-only)
- Source analysis shows which URLs earn citations, useful for digital PR targeting
- Unlimited users across plans; no-card trial
- ✓Best UI in the category; suggested prompts make setup fast
- ✓Daily granularity from €89/month
- ✓Unlimited seats, so agencies can invite whole client teams
- ✓5.0/5 on G2 (early sample)
- ✗Monitoring only: no audit, no prioritized fix list
- ✗Each tier caps you at 3 of 7 engines; extra engines cost roughly €20–30/month each
- ✗Claude tracking locked to Enterprise
- ✗Full multi-engine coverage nearly doubles the advertised Starter price
- Pricing (verified July 2026). Starter €89/mo (~$95, 25 prompts, 1 project), Pro ~$245/mo (100 prompts, 2 projects), Advanced ~$495/mo (5 projects), Enterprise custom with full engine coverage.
- Rating. 5.0/5 on G2, from a small early review base (9 verified reviews as of May 2026), so treat it as directional.
- Best for. Marketing teams that want serious daily LLM rank tracking without enterprise pricing, and can live with 3-engine coverage or budget for add-ons.
3. Otterly AI: Cheapest credible entry into LLM rank tracking
Otterly AI is the lowest-friction way to start tracking LLM visibility. $29/month buys daily tracking of 15 prompts across four AI engines, plus a monthly allowance of GEO URL audits.
Our Otterly review rated it the most accessible tool in the category, and that still holds.

- Lite includes ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot
- Link Citations Analysis shows exactly which URLs each engine references
- GEO URL audits (1,000/month on Lite) add a light optimization layer
- API + MCP access and Looker Studio connector from Standard up
- ✓$29/month entry, the cheapest real tracker in this list
- ✓Highest G2 score in the category (4.9/5)
- ✓Unlimited team members on all plans
- ✓15% annual discount brings Lite to $25/month
- ✗15 prompts on Lite is genuinely restrictive
- ✗Engine add-ons stack up: Claude costs $29–$439/mo, Gemini and AI Mode $9–$149/mo each
- ✗Extra prompts cost $99/month per 100, so the jump to Standard ($189) comes fast
- ✗Shallow historical data for long-term trend analysis
- Pricing (verified July 2026). Lite $29/mo (15 prompts), Standard $189/mo (100 prompts, API/MCP), Premium $489/mo (400 prompts); Enterprise custom. Note: Otterly has restructured pricing since our original review. These are the current published tiers.
- Rating. 4.9/5 on G2 (41 reviews).
- Best for. SMBs and solo SEOs who want to start measuring AI visibility this week for the price of a lunch, before committing to a $200+/month platform.
4. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit: Best add-on if you already run Semrush
Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit bolts LLM tracking onto the platform your team may already live in. It bundles Visibility Overview, Prompt Research, Competitor Research, Brand Performance, and an AI Search Site Audit.
That's a genuinely broad feature set for an add-on. See our full Semrush review for the core platform.

- $99/month per domain add-on; 25 tracked prompts included
- Prompt Research works like keyword research for AI questions
- AI Search Site Audit adds a basic optimization layer
- Semrush One bundles (SEO Classic + AI Toolkit) start at $199/month
- ✓One login, one invoice, one workflow if you're already a Semrush shop
- ✓Broadest feature set of any add-on tracker
- ✓Backed by Semrush's data infrastructure (4.5/5 on G2, 3,400+ reviews)
- ✗$99/month per domain gets expensive for multi-client agencies fast
- ✗+$60/month per extra 50 prompts; no free trial on the toolkit
- ✗25 included prompts is thin next to Peec's 25 at €89 with daily tracking
- ✗Core Semrush subscription (from $139/month) needed for the full workflow
- Pricing (verified July 2026). $99/mo per domain (25 prompts), +$60/mo per additional 50 prompts, +$99/mo per extra domain. Semrush One from $199/mo bundles it with the classic SEO toolkit.
- Rating. 4.5/5 on G2 (3,400+ reviews) for the Semrush platform overall. The toolkit itself is too new for separate scoring.
- Best for. Existing Semrush subscribers who want credible LLM tracking without adding a vendor. If you're not already paying Semrush, a dedicated tracker is cheaper.
5. Ahrefs Brand Radar: Largest prompt database, at a price
Brand Radar is Ahrefs' AI visibility add-on, built on a database of 421M+ monthly prompts. That's the closest thing the industry has to search-volume data for AI questions.
It tracks AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity, and Grok, plus YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit visibility. Our Ahrefs review covers the core platform.

- 421M+ monthly prompts, unmatched for AI prompt research at scale
- Tracks brand mentions across 6 AI engines plus social surfaces
- All Platforms tier includes 2,500 custom prompt checks per month
- Integrates with the Ahrefs dataset your team already uses
- ✓Biggest prompt dataset in the industry, the research layer others lack
- ✓Social surface tracking (YouTube, TikTok, Reddit) is unique in this list
- ✓Ahrefs platform reliability (4.5/5 on G2)
- ✗Expensive: $398/month (Select Platforms) or $699/month (All Platforms), on top of an Ahrefs plan from $129/month
- ✗Prompt data skews toward Google AI Overviews and AI Mode; ChatGPT and Perplexity depth is thinner
- ✗No optimization guidance: pure intelligence, no fix list
- Pricing (verified July 2026 via ahrefs.com). Select Platforms $398/mo, All Platforms $699/mo (includes 2,500 custom prompt checks). Full coverage on top of Ahrefs Lite runs $827/mo, 8.7x Peec's Starter tier.
- Rating. 4.5/5 on G2 for Ahrefs overall.
- Best for. Data-driven teams with budget that want prompt-demand research, deciding which AI questions to chase, more than day-to-day rank tracking.
6. Profound: Enterprise depth leader with proprietary Prompt Volumes
Profound is the most heavily funded platform in the category ($58.5M through Series B) and the depth benchmark. SOC 2 certified, daily refresh, citation-level tracking.
Then there is Prompt Volumes: panel data showing what real users actually ask AI platforms, segmented by demographics. Our Profound review goes deeper on the enterprise tier.

- Prompt Volumes: real user prompt demand data no competitor matches
- 10+ engines at Enterprise: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Meta AI, Grok, DeepSeek
- SOC 2 certification and enterprise security posture
- AI Agents for automated research and competitive tracking
- ✓Deepest analytics and broadest engine coverage in the category
- ✓Prompt Volumes is genuinely unique demand data
- ✓4.6/5 on G2 with a large review base
- ✗Starter ($99/mo) tracks ChatGPT only, 50 prompts, no exports. A demo, not a program
- ✗Functional multi-engine tracking starts at Growth, $399/month
- ✗Enterprise tier (~$2,000–$5,000+/mo) is where the headline features live; pricing page is demo-led as of July 2026
- ✗Steep learning curve; overkill below enterprise scale
- Pricing (verified July 2026). Starter $99/mo (ChatGPT only), Growth $399/mo (3 engines), Enterprise custom, typically $2,000–$5,000+/mo with Prompt Volumes and API. Public self-serve pricing has been progressively removed in favor of demos.
- Rating. 4.6/5 on G2.
- Best for. Enterprise brands where AI visibility is a board-level metric and $2K+/month is a rounding error. Everyone else should start smaller.
7. Scrunch AI: Widest per-plan engine coverage in the mid-market
Scrunch AI tracks seven AI surfaces on every plan: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Meta AI. No other mid-market tool matches that.
Its hallucination detection (flagging when AI engines say false things about your brand) is a real differentiator, though Enterprise-gated. Full analysis in our Scrunch AI review.

- 7 AI surfaces included on every tier, no per-engine add-on games
- Hallucination detection catches factual errors about your brand (Enterprise)
- Competitive benchmarking and prompt-level tracking
- SOC 2 compliant, so it clears enterprise procurement
- ✓Best engine coverage per dollar in the mid-market
- ✓Hallucination detection is unique and increasingly important
- ✓SOC 2 for compliance-sensitive clients
- ✗No cheap entry: $250/month (annual) or $300 month-to-month floor
- ✗Hallucination detection, the headline feature, is Enterprise-only
- ✗Weekly (not daily) updates on some data at lower tiers
- ✗Monitoring-first; optimization guidance is thin
- Pricing (verified July 2026). Starter $250/mo annual ($300 month-to-month), Growth $417/mo annual ($500 monthly), Enterprise custom (typically $1,000+/mo).
- Rating. 4.6/5 on G2 (50+ reviews).
- Best for. Mid-market brands and agencies that need all seven major AI surfaces tracked under one flat price, and can justify a $250/month floor.
8. AthenaHQ: Best tracking + optimization recommendations in one tool
AthenaHQ comes closest to bridging the tracking/optimization divide. Alongside 8-platform monitoring, its Action Center generates structured GEO optimization workflows.
Revenue attribution via Shopify and GA4 connects AI visibility to money. Our AthenaHQ review covers the platform's rapid evolution.

- 8-platform coverage on all plans, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Overviews
- Action Center turns visibility gaps into structured optimization tasks
- Ask Athena natural-language copilot for querying your own data
- Shopify/GA4 revenue attribution, rare in this category
- ✓Actually tells you what to do, not just what happened
- ✓Highest G2 score after Otterly (4.9/5)
- ✓Self-serve setup: tracking live within days, no sales call
- ✓$95 intro first month lowers the trial barrier
- ✗Credit-based pricing makes monthly costs unpredictable
- ✗Self-serve plan limited to one country
- ✗ACE Citation Engine gated to Enterprise
- ✗Pricing has risen sharply since launch; our earlier review captured a $99/month entry that no longer exists
- Pricing (verified July 2026). Self-Serve from $295/mo (3,600 credits) up to ~$499/mo depending on prompts/engines; $95 first-month intro offer; Enterprise custom.
- Rating. 4.9/5 on G2 (32 reviews).
- Best for. Teams that want one tool to both measure AI visibility and hand back an optimization to-do list, especially e-commerce brands who can use the revenue attribution.
9. Omnia: Agentic newcomer with the friendliest European entry price
Omnia is a Madrid-based platform founded in 2025 by ex-Klarna executive Daniel Espejo, with €3.5M in pre-seed funding.
It pitches itself as an "agentic" AI visibility platform: monitoring plus agents that help create and place AI-optimized content. At €79/month with API and MCP access included, it undercuts Peec on entry price.

- Growth: 25 prompts, daily monitoring, 4 engines by default (up to 7 on request)
- API + MCP access on the entry tier, unusual at this price
- Unlimited countries/languages; citation tracking and competitor benchmarking
- 14-day free trial, no credit card
- ✓€79/month entry with API/MCP included beats most rivals' gated access
- ✓Daily monitoring at the cheapest tier
- ✓Agentic content workflows are a differentiated bet
- ✗Young product (launched 2025) with no meaningful G2 review base yet
- ✗Sentiment analysis and data export gated to Pro (€279/month)
- ✗€3.16 per tracked prompt on Growth is pricier per-prompt than Otterly Standard
- ✗Thinner integrations than established rivals
- Pricing (verified July 2026 via useomnia.com). Growth €79/mo (25 prompts), Pro €279/mo (100 prompts, sentiment, exports), Enterprise from €499/mo (200+ prompts); 20% annual discount.
- Rating. Too new for a credible G2 score. We're not going to cite one that doesn't exist.
- Best for. European teams that want a modern, API-first LLM tracker at the lowest dedicated-tool entry price and are comfortable betting on a young product.
10. SE Ranking AI Search add-on: Cheapest full SEO suite + LLM tracking combo
SE Ranking answers a different question than the dedicated trackers: what if you want one affordable platform for classic SEO (rank tracking, audits, keywords) and LLM visibility?
Its AI Search add-on bolts AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, and Perplexity tracking onto any plan for $89/month. Our SE Ranking review rates the core platform the best-value all-in-one for SMBs.

- AI Results Tracker covers Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Perplexity, and ChatGPT
- Sits inside a full SEO suite: rank tracking, site audit, keyword research, white-label reports
- Add-on works with Core, Growth, and Enterprise plans
- ✓Cheapest way to get traditional SEO + LLM tracking from one vendor
- ✓Strong core platform (4.7/5 on G2, 2,300+ reviews)
- ✓White-label reporting included for agencies
- ✗AI tracking is an add-on, not the product's center of gravity
- ✗Narrower engine list than dedicated trackers (no Claude, Gemini, Copilot)
- ✗Total cost stacks: base plan plus $89/month add-on lands around $175–$220/month
- Pricing (verified July 2026). AI Search add-on $89/mo ($71.20/mo on annual billing) on top of a base plan; Core lists at $103.20–$129/mo depending on billing cycle. Combined: roughly $175–$218/mo. That still undercuts Semrush Pro + AI Toolkit ($139 + $99 = $238/mo) by about $20–$63/month.
- Rating. 4.7/5 on G2 (2,300+ reviews) for the platform.
- Best for. SMBs and small agencies consolidating budget: one vendor, one dashboard, both traditional SERPs and AI answers covered for under $220/month.
The dirty secret of this category: most "LLM SEO tools" are scoreboards. They will chart your AI visibility declining in beautiful dashboards for $300 a month and never once tell you that your robots.txt has been blocking GPTBot since 2023.
- Buy the cheapest tracker that covers your engines. For most teams that's Otterly or Peec.
- Spend the savings on the fix, not the chart. Crawlability, schema, and content structure.
The teams winning AI citations in 2026 aren't the ones with the most expensive dashboard. They're the ones whose sites are trivially easy for a machine to read and quote.

The same data as a ladder. Notice how the market clusters: a genuine budget tier under $100, a mid-market band at $250–$400, and an enterprise cliff above $2,000.
The LLM SEO pricing ladder: $29/mo to $699/mo
Off the chart: Profound Enterprise and seoClarity-class platforms run roughly $2,000 to $5,000+ per month. Cheapest complete stack: CrawlRaven ($49 at launch) + Otterly Lite ($29/mo) covers both auditing and tracking. Semrush One does the same two jobs for $199/mo, over $2,000 more in year one. Bars scaled to approximate monthly USD; CrawlRaven shown as a one-time cost, not a subscription.
Which LLM SEO tool should you pick? A decision tree
Work through the questions in order. Most teams resolve to a tool within three steps, and step one applies to everyone: verify your site is technically citable before you pay anyone to measure your citations.
Which LLM SEO tool should you pick?
The same tree in text form, by budget and situation:
- Start here, always. CrawlRaven ($49 at launch) if you haven't verified AI crawler access, schema, and JS rendering.
- Under $50/month for tracking. Otterly Lite ($29/mo). The combined stack costs $29/month plus a one-time $49, a fraction of Semrush One at $199/mo.
- $100–$250/month. Peec AI Starter (€89/mo) for daily tracking and unlimited seats, or Omnia Growth (€79/mo) for API/MCP access at entry price.
- Already paying Semrush or Ahrefs. Price their add-ons ($99/mo and $398+/mo) against Peec at ~$95/mo before committing.
- Mid-market needing every surface. Scrunch AI ($250/mo annual), or AthenaHQ ($295/mo) if you want recommendations, not just charts.
- Enterprise with compliance and demand-data needs. Profound (Growth $399/mo; Enterprise ~$2,000+/mo).
- One vendor for classic SEO plus LLM tracking. SE Ranking with the AI add-on lands at roughly $175–$218/mo all-in.

LLM SEO tools: frequently asked questions
Basics
What exactly does an LLM SEO tool do?
It depends which half of the job it was built for:
- Tracking tools re-run a defined set of prompts across AI engines on a schedule and record whether your brand is mentioned, cited, or recommended. That produces mention rates and share-of-voice instead of keyword positions.
- Optimization tools audit whether AI crawlers can access and parse your site, and tell you what to change so answers start citing you.
Is LLM SEO the same as GEO or AEO?
Effectively yes. Vendors use all three labels for the tools above:
- GEO. The umbrella discipline for all generative engines.
- AEO. Focused on answer features like AI Overviews.
- LLM SEO. The same work described in SEO practitioners' vocabulary.
Do I actually need one yet?
If AI Overviews appear on your money queries, or your category gets asked about in ChatGPT, yes. The Pew data shows clicks drop by roughly half when an AI summary appears.
A $29–$95/month tracker plus a one-time $49 audit license answers the question definitively for less than one hour of consultant time.
Pricing
Why do these tools cost so much more per feature than SEO software?
Every tracked prompt is a live API call (or scrape) against multiple AI engines, repeated daily. Vendors pass through real compute costs. That's also why prompt counts, not features, drive pricing tiers everywhere.
What's the real cost, not the advertised one?
Price the engines you need, not the headline tier:
- Peec Starter (€89) nearly doubles once you add engines beyond its included three.
- Otterly's Claude add-on alone runs $29–$439/month.
- Profound's usable tier is $399, not $99.
- The flat-price outliers are Scrunch (7 surfaces included) and AthenaHQ (8 platforms, but credit-metered).
What's the cheapest complete setup?
CrawlRaven ($49 at launch) + Otterly Lite ($29/month) covers auditing and tracking for $29/month after a one-time $49. The same two jobs via Semrush One cost $199/month, over $2,000 more per year.
LLM SEO tools vs traditional SEO tools
Can't my rank tracker just add AI tracking?
Some have. That's exactly what Semrush, Ahrefs, and SE Ranking's add-ons are.
The difference is depth: dedicated trackers sample more frequently, cover more engines, and expose citation-level data. Add-ons win on workflow; dedicated tools win on data.
Does traditional SEO work still matter for LLM visibility?
More than most vendors admit. AI engines lean heavily on crawlable, well-structured, schema-rich pages, and their retrieval layers frequently piggyback on conventional search indexes.
The technical foundations are shared, which is why an LLM SEO strategy starts with the same audit discipline as classic technical SEO.
Should I move budget from SEO tools to LLM SEO tools?
Shift, don't swap. A 10–25% reallocation covers a tracker and an AI-readiness audit at 2026 prices.
Killing your Google stack while it still drives the majority of revenue-driving traffic would be trading a measurable channel for an emerging one.

Frequently asked questions
What is an LLM SEO tool?
An LLM SEO tool tracks and improves how your brand appears in large language model answers: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews. Tracking tools (Peec AI, Otterly, Profound) run a fixed set of prompts on a schedule and record whether you were mentioned or cited. Optimization tools (CrawlRaven, AthenaHQ) audit your site and content so AI engines can crawl, understand, and cite you more often.
What is the best LLM SEO tool in 2026?
There is no single best tool because tracking and optimization are different jobs. For dedicated LLM rank tracking, Peec AI (from €89/month with daily tracking and unlimited seats) is the strongest pick for most marketing teams, with Otterly AI ($29/month) as the budget entry and Profound as the enterprise depth leader. For the optimization side, CrawlRaven (from $49 at launch one-time) runs a 200-point technical audit including AI crawler access checks. Most teams get the best results pairing one tracker with one optimizer.
What is the cheapest way to start with LLM SEO tools?
The cheapest credible stack in 2026 is CrawlRaven at a launch price of $49 (200-point audit with AI search readiness checks; free plan for 1 site without a credit card) plus Otterly AI Lite at $29/month (15 tracked prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Copilot). That is $29/month plus a one-time $49, a fraction of the $199/month Semrush One bundle, and both halves of the job are covered.
How much do LLM SEO tools cost?
Verified July 2026: entry points range from a one-time $49 (CrawlRaven, optimization) and $29/month (Otterly Lite, tracking) through €79–€89/month (Omnia, Peec AI), $99/month (Semrush AI Toolkit add-on, Profound Starter), $250–$300/month (Scrunch AI, AthenaHQ self-serve), up to $398–$699/month for Ahrefs Brand Radar and roughly $2,000+/month for enterprise platforms like Profound's full tier. Watch for add-on pricing: extra AI engines commonly cost $9–$439/month each on top of list price.
Do LLM SEO tools have hidden costs?
Frequently, yes. Otterly charges $29–$439/month extra to add Claude tracking and $9–$149/month for Gemini or Google AI Mode. Peec AI includes only 3 of 7 engines per tier, with extra engines costing roughly €20–30/month each and Claude reserved for Enterprise. Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit charges $99/month per domain plus $60/month per additional 50 prompts. Always price the engines and prompt volume you actually need, not the advertised entry tier.
Can I use Semrush or Ahrefs for LLM SEO instead of a dedicated tool?
Yes, if you already subscribe. Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit is $99/month per domain with 25 prompts, and Ahrefs Brand Radar is a $398–$699/month add-on with the largest prompt database (421M+ monthly prompts). The trade-off: both are add-ons priced on top of base plans that start at $139/month (Semrush) and $129/month (Ahrefs Lite), so a dedicated tracker like Peec AI or Otterly is usually cheaper if you don't need the underlying SEO suite.
Do traditional rank trackers work for ChatGPT and Perplexity?
No. Traditional rank trackers scrape search engine results pages, which have stable, position-numbered listings. LLM answers have no fixed positions, vary between runs of the same prompt, and differ by model version, region, and conversation context. LLM SEO tracking tools solve this by re-running a fixed prompt set daily or weekly and reporting mention rates, citation rates, and share of voice instead of a single position number.
Is LLM SEO different from GEO and AEO?
They overlap heavily. GEO (generative engine optimization) is the broad discipline of optimizing for all generative AI platforms. AEO (answer engine optimization) focuses on answer features like Google AI Overviews. 'LLM SEO' is the phrasing practitioners use for the same work viewed through an SEO lens: rank tracking and site optimization aimed at large language models. The tools in this list are marketed under all three labels.
Will LLM SEO tools replace my traditional SEO stack?
Not yet. Google still drives the majority of most sites' organic traffic, and the technical foundations overlap: crawlability, schema, content structure, and site speed matter for both Google and AI engines. Treat LLM SEO tools as a layer on top of your stack, not a replacement. The practical budget shift in 2026 is moving 10–25% of tool spend toward AI visibility tracking and AI-readiness auditing.
